κοντά στην περιοχή Icacos, Siparia (Republic of Trinidad and Tobago)

This cycling and bird watching trail starts at the southern-most tip of Trinidad in the fishing village of Icacos Point. This ride will take you from Icacos Point to the other southern fishing village called Cedros and back. Icacos Point is a quaint fishing village nestled in the south-western peninsula and is the closest point to mainland South America from Trinidad. The village is bordered on the southern side by the ocean and on the northern side by a lagoon. This gives birdwatchers ideal conditions for sighting lots of water birds as well as birds of prey and some migratory species from South America...
The roads are in fairly good condition and there’s usually not much road rage to deal with because not many people visit these villages except for a long weekend “lime.” Most of the trek is uncovered and exposed to direct sunshine so sunscreen should be worn. Additionally, there’s usually quite a bit of mosquitoes in this area, particularly on cloudy or rainy days so an insect repellant is a must. Other than the usual precautions I found this to be one of the best outdoor bird watching treks that Trinidad has to offer so get out there and enjoy it!
Happy Trails...
