This trail was difficult to locate and even more difficult to follow. There were very few markers in certain sections and we were compelled to navigate using my phone's GPS. We had some trouble even locating where the trail started as there were no markers. You have to take the stairs that lead up to the cave above the swimming pool area. Once you reach the top of the stairs, the trial splits off to the right (if you go left, you'll end up at the caves). You will know you are on the correct trail if you see yellow and red markers, or "blazes" (though, there are not enough of these, in my opinion). After locating the trail, we found that it leads straight up the mountainside for about a mile or more. The terrain is steep throughout, and in some places the trail is covered with loose rocks which slide easily. Once we reached the top of the mountain, the trial intersected with what appeared to be a fire access or farming road. Here the trail was very difficult to follow, and there were very few trail markers. I was compelled to use my phone's GPS to navigate. Once we located the proper roads (after a few wrong turns including one where we ended up in a cherry orchard...) we finally ended up at the old military outpost. It was a very nice place to stop as it had picnic tables and a fresh water spring that allowed us to refill our bottles. When we continued we, once again, found it difficult to locate the trail. After finally walking down one unmarked road, there was a yellow sign indicating that we were on the right path. This is a lovely hike, but I would recommend allowing extra time for locating the trail, and I definitely wouldn't recommend this trail to anyone who is looking for an easy hike that a child or older person could easily accomplish.

I wish this sign would have been located at the beginning of the trail instead of part of the way down it. It made it very difficult to know which way to go! https://el.wikiloc.com/oreibasia-diadromes/loutra-pozar-katarraktes-kounoupitsas-aridaia-boras-11746245/photo-7177471

beautiful trail, lovely landscape allaround plus you get the chance to have a hot bath at the hotsprings in the end!! Around 3 hours one way, and except of couple points.it does have noticeable marks..you follow the way to the caves(climb up the stairs but not all the way up, just follow the yellow and red marks)and then you have to go to the right..you have to climb up the hill for about 15 minutes(not so easy but doable), you reach the rock that you can see from the beginning of the path and has amazing panorama, and then take the curve that leads to the forest and be aware to follow the red/yellow marks. You follow until you reach the big dirtroad (there is a confusing yellow arrow on a tree that leads to a corn field, thats the wrong place!you should go back to the main path and continue until the big dirtroad that comes from the other side of the mountain and have some houses further down to the right side). after 2 hours from the start you will find a small church and a picknick area with fresh water.there you have to follow the way across and down to the river the one have red arrows on a rock on your right and little bit further down the sigh of the waterfall. Its a pleasant trail with lots of shadow and many nuts chestnuts and blackberries around..the forest is beautiful with many different spices and some rare birds .the river is unique tirquoise colors and really clear water!! for the most adventurous you could follow the river(of course not possible all year long) to go back but there are many paths, many red marks that are quite confusing and you have to pass through the river(i did it end of october and still was not flowed, you could always pass, but you had to have some skills if you didnt want to wet your shoes!) in some points, but the landscape was marvelous. In total it took us around 5+ hours, the roundtrip, but with chilled rhythm and lots of pictures. In general there was some narrow parts close to the cliff and for sure you need good shoes and sticks are also advisable. Absolutely not recommended for children and elders how are not in good physical shape(as the uphills and the downhills are quite rough). Take a swimming suit and a towel, as a relaxing bath at the hot springs is a must after!! Before you go i would suggest to see the map and read the reviews and details so you are well oriented,as indeed there are some spots that you can easily be confused. Still i totally recommend it!
