κοντά στην περιοχή Teralba, New South Wales (Australia)

From Teralba you head along local roads, parks and bush trails which pass through the suburbs of Speers Point and Warners Bay. The dominant geographical feature is Lake Macquarie: twice the size of Sydney Harbour, with 174KM of tidal foreshore; this is the biggest salt water lake in the Southern Hemisphere. From Warners Bay you climb to a ridge over which is draped the suburb of Charlestown.

Local roads, forest walks, creek walks and stretches of beach take you through Burwood, Kahiba, Glenrock and Merewether Beach before you climb to Strzelecki Lookout using the newly constructed and spectacular Newcastle ANZAC Memorial Walkway. From Strzelecki Lookout, Sydney is 117KM in a straight line to the South but hidden way below the curvature of the planet.

From Strzelecki Lookout there should only be 3KM to go, but there’s more to see: King Edward Park; Newcastle Beach; Nobby’s Beach; Nobby’s Lighthouse and the Newcastle Breakwater.
