Our little group of friends did this group on a sunny day in May 2014, but with a little breeze which made the hiking tolerable. We found this route in Wikiloc, where everybody praised it as one of the most beautiful in the area. And it really is! We started in the Camping of Grazalema where we parked the car. The first two kilometres and a half is a sharp climb through a very rocky terrain where it is necessary to take a lot of care. After that the route descends through very varied landscapes, the Endrinal (orhard of sloe trees) flatlands, forests, the well and the source of a river, the Boyar Gap, to arrive at a very nice Pedestrian pathway along the river until you return to the Camping. There is so much to see, lime kilns, an ancient Ice pit where in the past food and ice were stored, and then the Lapiaz rock formation. We crossed numerous wooden bridges, there are tables and seats sculptured in the limestone, and picnic areas. We came across a wide variety of flora, including an impressive display of Peonías, the last orchids of the season, and finally some of the rare Pinsapos trees. All along the route we were entertained by the birdsong, and we saw some vultures at midday circling over the Simancón Peak. It was very hot, but there are trees along the route which provide some shade where you can to stop and recover. There is no water until you arrive at the "Pila" or basin, and there is no indication whether it is drinkable or not, but it was good to refresh the body "exterior". What a complete Route? It has everything! It was our last hike of this winter-spring season for our little group lead by Miguel Ángel Robles of Medusa ADN. It appears that we kept the best wine till last. And another problem, so many beautiful photos, how to narrow down the ones to publish.
