The Goring Circular via Hill Bottom walk winds through the stunning Chiltern Hills, offering a wonderful mix of woodlands, open meadows, and picturesque villages. We started at Goring & Streatley Station, which is really convenient if you’re coming from London.
The climb up to Hill Bottom is worth it for the panoramic views over the Thames Valley. Ashampstead Woods is a perfect location to enjoy some bird and the beautiful wildlife around the woods and walking through Whitchurch Hill and Streatley gave us a real taste of charming English village life, complete with scenic lanes and welcoming pubs.
Rather than finishing back in Goring we extended our walk along the River Thames Path to Pangbourne, adding another 7/8 km extra. This peaceful riverside stretch was a lovely bonus and made the hike feel even more rewarding.
Overall, it’s a moderately challenging, highly scenic hike with plenty of variety, woodlands, hills, villages, and riverside paths. Perfect for a full-day adventure in the Berkshire countryside.
